My weekly podcasts are going great. I found software for my Palm so I can take them with me. I added pallor and paradox to my vocabulary. I also learned why Friday the 13th is considered bad luck. I also signed up for the news from Lake Wobegon. I really like those podcasts.

Weekly podcast

I signed up for Just Vocabulary. The words that I learned this week are: palatial, odious, garish, and facetious. I already knew most of the words, but it was fun to remember them and hear them being used. My sentence for the day is "I was being facetious when I said that my home was palatial."

Reflections on Wikis in Education

I am planning on teaching grades 1-3 and hope to be a librarian someday. I honestly can not see myself using a wiki for lower grades. I could use to collaborate with parents of my students, but I just don't see it for the kids. For middle school and high school, I can see all kinds of different applications. I love the idea of having a common site to contribute during a group project. I would have loved to have had a wiki in some of my past college classes. I liked some of the ideas that were on the website. The website was pretty user friendly. I would have liked to have seen the links set up a little different. That's just my opinion.
