This class has gone so fast and the new stuff I've learned...WOW! It's been a great class with lots of great info. The final presentations were awesome. I really enjoyed the podcasts, too. Grammar Girl is one of the best. I really enjoyed Just Vocabulary, too. There are so many podcasts out there that it was hard to chose. I recommend these two though.
A huge THANKS to everyone in my class! It's been fun, techies.

Highway Roundabout
Highway Roundabout
This game is like nothing I've ever played before. Be careful not to get too sick.
Just FYI, I found it through a link, so I know nothing about the rest of the site.

Oh, yeah, my weekly podcasts
Time flies by so quickly. How did 2 weeks just get by me? I've learned lots of new vocabulary words like paradigm, labyrinth, remiss and forthright. I enjoy these podcasts and I figured out how to put them on my palm and take them with me. On BrainStuff this week, it talked about how a boat can float by displacing water and how the shape makes it work. Have you ever thought about how those massive cruise ships stay afloat? A combination of water pressure and the fact that a lot of the interior of a boat is air is what makes a boat float.

Weekly update from Lake Wobegon
http://woodgears.ca/eyeball/ Here's a fun mind bender.
My weekly podcasts are going great. I found software for my Palm so I can take them with me. I added pallor and paradox to my vocabulary. I also learned why Friday the 13th is considered bad luck. I also signed up for the news from Lake Wobegon. I really like those podcasts.

Weekly podcast
I signed up for Just Vocabulary. The words that I learned this week are: palatial, odious, garish, and facetious. I already knew most of the words, but it was fun to remember them and hear them being used. My sentence for the day is "I was being facetious when I said that my home was palatial."
Reflections on Wikis in Education
I am planning on teaching grades 1-3 and hope to be a librarian someday. I honestly can not see myself using a wiki for lower grades. I could use to collaborate with parents of my students, but I just don't see it for the kids. For middle school and high school, I can see all kinds of different applications. I love the idea of having a common site to contribute during a group project. I would have loved to have had a wiki in some of my past college classes. I liked some of the ideas that were on the website. The website was pretty user friendly. I would have liked to have seen the links set up a little different. That's just my opinion.

First post for INST4010
Here's my blog for INST4010. I think blogging is just as good as email. You can use it to keep students up-to-date on assignments and classroom happenings. If you had a class where everyone had access to the internet, that would be best. Limited access to the internet would limit the effectiveness of your blog.
